Eating Out Around the Area
Here a few great places to eat in the surrounding area but there are many more.
Ardanaiseig Hotel, Kilchrenan, PA35 1HE, 01866 833333
Definitely for a special evening of dining over looking the loch (book a table). Expensive dining with superb food. More affordable is their delicious afternoon tea.
Taycreggan Hotel, Kilchrenan, PA35 1HQ, 01866 833211
Nouveau cuisine with all tables have a view over Loch Awe, again expensive but worth it for a treat.
Falls of Lora Hotel, Connel Ferry, PA37 1PB, 01631 710483
Always a good atmosphere here, especially in the winter when they have an open fire buring in the middle of the room. Tends to be busy so best to book. Varied menu with a specials board one of my favourite hotels.
Lochnell Arms Hotel, North Connel, PA37 1RP, 01631 710408
Traditional family run hotel offering spectacular views over the Falls of Lora and Mull. The sunsets are amazing. They offer lunch, afternoon tea and evening menus and during the summer you can eat outside on the sun terrace. Booking is recommended especially in the evening and weekends.
The Oyster Inn, Connel, PA37 1PJ, 01631 710666
Also know as The Glue Pot or Ferryman Inn. Offers lunch, Afternoon/High Teas and dinner. The sunset and views are just amazing. Seating inside and out.
Ben Lora Tearoom, Benderloch, Ledaig, PA37 1QT, 01631 720296
Open from April to September this is a really good cafe offering lunch and dinner and a selection of home made cakes. Also has a good bookshop inside. Seating inside and out. Great to visit after a walk along Tralee Beach.
Creagan Inn, Appin, Argyll, PA38 4BQ, 01631 730250
The Creagan Inns aim is to utilise the abundance of great produce available from Scotland’s Larder and to promote it to their guests from near and far.
Isle of Eriska Hotel and Spa, Benderloch, Nr Oban, PA37 1SD, 01631 720371
Very nice hotel to visit with a spa and pool. Food is excellent and served in a lovely raised restaurant overlooking their grounds and the water.
Poppies Garden Centre, Giftshop & Restaurant, Saulmore Shore, PA37 1PU, 01631 565718
Another must place to vist. The food is excellent along with the view out across Dunstaffnage Maria, the Castle and the islands and mountains beyond. Gift shop has a great selection of unusual gifts.
The Wide Mouthed Frog, Dunstaffnage Marina, Dunbeg, PA37 1PX, 01631 567005
Good food and selection of wines and beers. Very nice to sit outside overlooking the boats, with a walled area that’s safe to let young kids run around. Pets welcome.
The Barn, Colgin, Lerags, PA34 4SE, 01631 564501
Good local food in a unique atmosphere, eating in its original slate cattle stalls. Real ales and a great whisky collection. Local musicians play regularly throughout the year. Pet Friendly.
